Ингредиенты

  • 1/2 lb Fresh prawns
  • 2 x Cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Sugar Dash of white pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. Oil
  • 2 c. Oil for deep-frying
  • 1 lrg Egg
  • 2 Tbsp. Flour
  • 1 1/4 Tbsp. Cornstarch
  • 2 Tbsp. Thin soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. Cider vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. Sesame oil
  • 1 1/4 Tbsp. Sugar
  • 5 x Dry chili peppers, finely minced, or possibly 1-1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper

Инструкции

  1. Shell, devein and wash prawns. Drain and pat dry with paper towels.
  2. Add in salt, sugar and pepper, mixing well.
  3. While oil is heating to 350-degrees, prepare the battter by beating the egg, adding the flour and cornstarch. Mix thoroughly.
  4. Dip prawns in batter, drop in warm oil and deep-fry for 4 min. Remove and drain off excess oil.
  5. Prepare sauce by combining the listed ingredients.
  6. Heat wok, add in 1 Tbsp. oil, and stir-fry garlic for 1 minute. Add in sauce and bring to a boil.
  7. Add in deep-fried prawns, mix thoroughly, and serve.
  8. FOR DEEP FRIED PRAWMS ONLY: Follow steps 1 and 2 above.
  9. 1/2 c. Sitjar's Crispy Mix or possibly any type of deep fry chicken batter.
  10. Purchase at any Chinese grocery store. Add in 1/4 c. and 2 tablesoon cool water. Mix well.
  11. Heat 2 c. oil to 350-degree. Dip prawn in batter and fry for 4 min, and serve.
