- With meat mallet lb. meat to tenderize. Cook onion in warm skillet till tender. Remove from pan. Brown meat on both sides. Reduce heat to low. Add in onion, chili sauce, dry mustard, salt and pepper, and the 1/2 c. water. Cover and cook for about 1 1/2 to 2 hrs. Check periodically and add in more water as needed. This can be baked in a 350 degree oven for about the same length of time.
