- Preheat oven to 350 F. Sift together the flour, sugar, baking pwdr, and salt. Add in the vegetable shortening, cherry juice, cherries and the lowfat milk and beat for 2 min. Add in 1/2-2/3 c.(4 large) unbeaten egg whites and beat 2 min more. Then fold in1/2 c. of minced nuts. Pour into two greased and floured round cake layer pans and bake for 30-35 min. Frost with pink Seven Minute Frosting (it's recipe is in this file).
- NOTES : MUST use 7-Minute Frosting on this cake and color it pink.
