Рецепт Cheesy Corn Sticks
Corn bread shaped like "corn" sticks or cactus? Yum!
Cheddar cheese mixed into the batter makes these corn sticks even more special.
Perfect for a Southwestern theme party or a
Cowboy themed birthday party~
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup yellow cornmeal
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 T baking powder
- 1 t salt
- 1/4 t chili powder
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/4 cup finely shredded
- cheddar cheese
- Preheat oven to 400º
- Generously grease corn or cactus shaped cast iron mold
- Place greased mold in oven for 8-10 minutes
- In a large bowl
- Combine the first 6 ingredients
- Cut in shortening until the mixture
- Resembles coarse crumbs
- In a small bowl
- Combine milk, eggs and cheddar cheese
- Stir in dry ingredients just until blended
- Carefully remove hot mold from oven
- Carefully fill hot molds almost full
Bake at 400 degrees
For 13-15 minutes or until golden brown
Remove from oven
Cool corn sticks in pan for 5 minutes
Remove cornbread sticks or cactus from pan
Cool on wire racks
