Cheeseburger & Fries CasseroleBurger, bun and fries all in one casserole! Sure to please any cheeseburger lover and easy to prepare too. Perfect back-to-school supper.

Here's a delicious meal that will please both the adults and the kids in the house.

Easy, economical and tastyThis is really tasty and I liked the idea of combining all of my favorite burger joint things in one economical casserole. Unfortunately, when I got a hanker on for this, I was out of regular frozen french fries, but I did have some crispy crowns in the freezer that substituted nicely. In fact, I think it gave this casserole even more flavor. Since they are just flattened tater tots in actuality, good ol' tater tots can be used if you have them on hand.

Perfect comfort casseroleVelveeta and milk make instant cheese sauce in this. If the meat looks as if it could use more "juice," then just add a little more milk--especially if you like it saucy. I also serve a cheese sauce with this. The link will lead you to my cheeseburger ring recipe which has my speedy cheese sauce included.

Up close and crunchyThere is real cheese in this too, so you get a nice bite from the real cheddar cheese as well. You can substitute real cheese for the Velveeta, but your sauce will separate. This is why I tend to use Velveeta, even if it's just a small chunk, in any cheddar cheese sauce. It is a miracle that keeps the sauce from separating. But since we rather LIKE Velveeta, I just go with using only that in this sauce.

Add bacon and some chopped pickle in the mix too if you'd like. It only gets better!

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Lightly spray a 13 x 9-inch baking dish.

Open biscuits and cut into quarters. Spread evenly over the bottom of prepared baking dish.

Brown ground beef in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Drain fat from pan. Lower heat to low and add the Velveeta, milk, ketchup and onion, stirring frequently until Velveeta is melted. If you want more sauce, add another 1/4 cup of milk.

Top biscuits with meat/cheese sauce mixture. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar over the meat.

Top with tater tots/crowns/french fries, spreading them out until they almost cover the top.

Bake at 375 for 20-30 minutes, or until potatoes are done and crispy and biscuits are cooked through.
