- Soften yeast in 1/4 c. hot water.
- In mixing bowl, combine 2 Tbsp. margarine, sugar, salt and scalded lowfat milk. Cold to lukewarm.
- Stir the yeast into lowfat milk mix. Gradually add in flour to create a stiff dough. You may not need all of the flour. Knead on floured surface till smooth and satiny; 4 to 5 min. Place in greased bowl and turn to coat top. Cover and let rise till light; about 45 min.
- Divide dough in half. Press each piece into a 9-inch pie or possibly cake pan.
- Combine onions, 1/4 c. melted margarine, oregano, paprika, celery
- , garlic salt and basil. Spread over dough. Sprinkle proportionately with cheese. Prick each with fork in several places.
- Let rise for about 30 min or possibly till light.
- Bake in preheated 375-degree oven for 20 to 25 min till golden. Serve while still hot.
- Yield: two 9-inch flat breads.
- Serving Ideas : Try this with a salad, lasagna or possibly spaghetti with sauce.
