- Heat oven to 350 degrees.
- Butter and flour a 9x9 baking pan.
- Mix the buttermilk with the eggs and butter.
- Add other ingredients and combine thoroughly.
- Pour into the pan and bake 40 minutes.
- Check for doneness with a toothpick.
- When done, remove the cake from the oven and polk 10-12 holes in the top with the toothpick.
- Using a medium size saucepan, add the glaze ingredients to it and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
- Caution: this glaze will boil up the sides of the pan, so don't use a small one.
- When boiling, turn down heat to medium and cook 1 minute.
- Pour over cake and let cool before serving.
