  • 1/2 c. Shortening
  • 1/2 c. Margarine
  • 1 1/2 tsp Clear vanilla
  • 5 c. Confectioners sugar
  • 2 x 3 Tbsp. lowfat milk

  1. Cream butter and shortening then add in vanilla. Add in sugar a c. at a time beating on medium speed. Add in lowfat milk 1 Tbsp. at a time and beat on high till fluffy. HINT: To cut the sweetness I usually add in about 1/4 teaspoon of salt dissolved in the vanilla.
  2. Makes 3 1/2 cupsThis is the icing I use to decorate cakes and it has a wonderful flavor. It is my Dad's favorite icing (especially on brownies). Margaret
