It's summertime and grilling season for a lot of people, aka the season to eat and cook outside cause it's too darn hot to cook inside.
Well, kinda.
Personally I like my air-conditioned kitchen, it's bug free and convenient, for me.
However, I also love to host parties, as you may have gathered from this blog. And one of the funnest parties is a Burger Bar Bash.

.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYou%20can%20buy%20the%20veggie%20burger%20patties%20or%20make%20them%20yourself.%20%20Your%20call.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20don't%20forget%20the%20dimple%20in%20the%20burger%20when%20you%20grill%20them.%20%20%20They%20cook%20evenly%20that%20way.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOK,%20now%20we%20have%20the%20meat%20handled.%20%20%20%20Well,%20kinda,%20I'll%20clue%20you%20in%20on%20one%20of%20my%20fave%20burgers%20later.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENext%20up%20is%20the%20buns.%20%20And%20here%20is%20where%20I%20get%20super,%20super%20picky.%20%20I%20hate,%20abhor,%20despise%20those%20buns%20that%20fall%20apart%20as%20soon%20as%20you%20bite%20into%20it.%20%20They%20just%20moosh%20up%20and%20well,%20I%20won't%20buy%20them.%20%20And%20usually,%20the%20bun%20is%20way%20too%20small%20for%20my%20burgers%20and%20the%20toppings.%20%20%20So,%20I%20buy%20French%20Hamburger%20buns.%20%20%20You%20know%20the%20kind,%20they're%20made%20from%20French%20bread,%20and%20they%20do%20hold%20up.%20%20And%20I've%20also%20been%20known%20to%20buy%20a%20loaf%20of%20French%20Bread%20and%20just%20cut%20it%20into%204ths%20or%205ths%20and%20make%20buns%20that%20way.%20%20And%20I've%20just%20discovered%20Pretzel%20Buns,%20which%20seem%20to%20be%20pretty%20sturdy%20as%20well.%20%20A%20good%20Kaiser%20roll%20can%20work%20also.%20%20Your%20call%20on%20that%20one,%20but%20please%20don't%20use%20those%20puny%20little%20buns%20that%20get%20sold%20in%20an%208%20pack.%20%20I%20think%20they're%20only%20good%20for%20those%20cardboard%20patties%20some%20hamburger%20chains%20sell,%20cause%20they%20can%20only%20handle%20a%20two%20ounce%20patty,%20a%20small%20squirt%20of%20mayo%20and%20mustard.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI'm%20not%20opinionated%20on%20this%20subject,%20at%20all.%20%20Am%20I?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECondiments%20are%20next.%20%20I%20have%20the%20usual,%20%20Ketchup,%20yellow%20mustard,%20brown%20mustard,%20BBQ%20sauce%20and%20Mayo.%20%20And%20have%20also%20been%20know%20to%20put%20out%20a%20couple%20of%20bottles%20of%20hot%20sauce%20as%20well.%20%20I%20cater%20or%20attempt%20to%20cater%20to%20most%20tastes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThen%20there%20is%20the%20lettuce,%20tomato%20and%20pickles%20and%20raw%20onions.%20%20You%20can%20shred%20the%20lettuce%20and%20place%20it%20out%20in%20a%20bowl%20if%20you%20like%20or%20just%20tear%20up%20the%20leaves%20into%20quarters%20and%20pile%20them%20loosely%20onto%20a%20platter.%20%20I've%20found%20that%20one%20head%20of%20lettuce%20will%20do%20about%2020%20or%2030%20burgers.%20%20%20%20I%20also%20have%20two%20kinds%20of%20pickles%20available,%20as%20some%20people%20like%20Dill%20Pickles%20and%20others%20like%20Bread%20and%20Butter%20pickles.%20%20%20I%20can%20go%20either%20way.%20%20But%20I%20have%20to%20have%20a%20large%20slice%20of%20raw%20onion%20on%20my%20burger,%20and%20I%20don't%20care%20if%20it%20makes%20my%20breath%20funny.%20%20I%20can%20always%20pop%20a%20mint.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo%20there%20are%20the%20basic%20toppings,%20condiments,%20etc.%20%20%20And%20it%20works.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBut...%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20like%20to%20go%20a%20little%20further.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EA%20lot%20further.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20cook%20up%20a%20pile%20of%20bacon,%20have%20some%20good%20pastrami%20handy,%20some%20sauteed%20garlic,%20some%20caramelized%20onions,%20sauteed%20Mushrooms%20and%20two%20or%20three%20kinds%20of%20cheese%20for%20people%20to%20choose%20from.%20%20%20I%20really%20don't%20care%20for%20the%20processed%20cheese%20slices,%20but%20that's%20me.%20%20%20I%20usually%20offer%20some%20good%20Cheddar%20or%20Colby%20Jack,%20some%20Provolone%20and%20some%20Blue%20Cheese.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20here's%20where%20it%20really%20gets%20fun.%20%20%20Grill%20your%20burgers,%20brown%20your%20buns%20if%20you%20like,%20place%20them%20on%20a%20big%20platter%20and%20let%20your%20guests%20build%20their%20own.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYou%20would%20be%20amazed%20at%20how%20much%20fun%20that%20is.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EEspecially%20when%20one%20of%20your%20guests%20builds%20a%20Dagwood%20style%20burger%20and%20can't%20get%20their%20mouth%20around%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EUmmm.%20that%20might%20actually%20be%20me.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
