- Heat the extra virgin olive oil in a large skillet over moderate heat. Add in the onions and garlic and cook, stirring frequently, for 5 min, till softened but not brown. Add in the sprouts, carrot, thyme, and water and simmer aver low heat for 5 - 10 min, till the water has completely evaporated. Add in the bell pepper, salt, and pepper, and saute/fry an additional minute.
