INGREDIENTS

Makes 10 to 12 depending on the size and length of the cigars

Total Preparation Time - 10 to 20 minutes

PREPARATION METHOD

Tear bread slices and sprinkle some water and knead well.

Add corn flour, red chilli powder, cumin powder, chaat masala, salt, coriander leaves and knead until it seems like smooth yet stiff dough (similar to chapati dough texture). Now check for salt and add if needed.

Set aside for 10 to 15 minutes so that the dough absorbs the flavors well. No harm in proceeding immediately, if you don't have enough time.

Pinch out small equal portions from the dough and roll them between your palms to form finger long cylindrical shapes. Cut the ends with a knife to give a clean look if you want.

Now place a frying pan on flame and pour enough oil to deep fry the prepared cigars. When the oil turns hot gently slide in the prepared cigars.

Fry on a medium flame until they turn brown in color.

Remove from oil using a slotted spoon and place on a tissue paper to remove excess oil.

Serve hot with ketchup.

TIP 1: Sweet bread tastes better, but still you can use any kind of your choice. Be careful while adding salt, as bread already has salt in it.

TIP 2: You can make balls or any shapes of your choice. Just make sure that you do not add too much of water while preparing dough. The dough should be hard yet smooth without bread pieces only then you will get perfect cigars. If you add too much of water you won't be able to make shapes, they will break while frying and also dunk in a lot of oil.

A tasty snack from leftover bread is now ready!! Serve with ketchup along with a hot cup of tea; it will definitely be a pleaser.
