%20from%20the%20cake%20while%20it%20was%20still%20sitting%20in%20the%20oven%20failed%20to%20lift%20up%20my%20spirits.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EJust%20like%20the%20Chinese%20sayings,%20%22%E7%A5%B8%E4%B8%8D%E5%8D%95%E8%A1%8C%22%20(it%20never%20rains%20but%20it%20pours)...when%20I%20release%20the%20cake%20from%20the%20pan,%20I%20was%20greeted%20with%20the%20most%20unpleasant-%20looking%20cake%20I%20have%20ever%20made%20:%22'(%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20top%20was%20dotted%20with%20blueberries...lumps%20of%20blueberries%20to%20be%20exact.%20Do%20pardon%20me%20for%20sharing%20these%20poor%20quality%20images.%20I%20usually%20don't%20like%20to%20take%20food%20photos%20in%20the%20evenings%20due%20to%20the%20poor%20lighting%20condition.%20But%20I%20had%20to%20take%20out%20my%20camera%20immediately%20to%20commemorate%20the%20disaster%20I%20have%20created%20;')%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20managed%20to%20take%20photos%20of%20the%20last%20two%20slices%20on%20a%20bright%20day.%20The%20cake%20texture%20was%20so%20so...as%20there%20was%20this%20dense%20layer%20again%20at%20the%20bottom%20of%20the%20cake%20:(%20Fortunately,%20the%20taste%20was%20acceptable,%20although%20the%20blueberries%20created%20a%20horrific%20sight%20on%20the%20cake%20surface,%20they%20remain%20sweet%20after%20baking.%20I%20will%20probably%20stay%20away%20from%20making%20chiffon%20cakes%20for%20the%20time%20being...at%20least%20not%20until%20my%20baking%20fairy%20returns.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBlueberry%20Chiffon%20Cake%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E(makes%20one%2018cm%20cake)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EA:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMethod:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWash%20and%20drain%20blueberries,%20pat%20dry%20with%20paper%20towels%20and%20toss%20them%20gently%20with%20one%20tablespoon%20of%20flour%20(extra).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESieve%20flour,%20baking%20powder%20together,%20set%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESeparate%20egg%20yolks/whites%20and%20bring%20to%20room%20temperature.%20(It%20is%20easier%20to%20separate%20eggs%20when%20they%20are%20cold.)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlace%20egg%20yolks%20in%20a%20mixing%20bowl,%20add%20in%20sugar%20and%20with%20a%20manual%20whisk,%20whisk%20till%20the%20mixture%20becomes%20sticky%20and%20turn%20pale.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDrizzle%20in%20the%20oil,%20whisking%20at%20the%20same%20time%20till%20the%20mixture%20is%20well%20combined.%20Repeat%20the%20same%20with%20the%20juice%20or%20water.%20Sieve%20over%20the%20flour%20mixture%20and%20whisk%20until%20flour%20mixture%20is%20fully%20incorporated%20into%20the%20batter.%20Add%20in%20blueberries%20and%20mix%20well.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20clean,%20dry%20mixing%20bowl,%20beat%20egg%20whites%20with%20an%20electric%20mixer%20until%20mixture%20becomes%20frothy%20and%20foamy.%20Gradually%20beat%20in%20the%20sugar%20and%20beat%20on%20high%20speed%20until%20just%20before%20stiff%20peaks%20form.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20the%20beaten%20egg%20white%20into%20the%20egg%20yolk%20batter%20in%203%20separate%20additions,%20each%20time%20folding%20gently%20with%20a%20spatula%20until%20just%20blended.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPour%20batter%20into%20a%2018cm%20(7%20inch)%20tube%20pan%20(do%20not%20grease%20the%20pan).%20Tap%20the%20pan%20lightly%20on%20a%20table%20top%20to%20get%20rid%20of%20any%20trapped%20air%20bubbles%20in%20the%20batter.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBake%20in%20pre-heated%20oven%20at%20170%20degC%20for%2045%20~%2050mins%20or%20until%20the%20cake%20surface%20turns%20golden%20brown,%20and%20a%20skewer%20inserted%20into%20the%20centre%20comes%20out%20clean.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERemove%20from%20the%20oven%20and%20invert%20the%20pan%20immediately.%20Let%20cool%20completely%20before%20unmould.%20To%20remove%20the%20cake%20from%20the%20pan,%20run%20a%20thin-bladed%20knife%20around%20the%20inside%20of%20the%20pan%20and%20the%20center%20core.%20Release%20the%20cake%20and%20run%20the%20knife%20along%20the%20base%20of%20the%20pan%20to%20remove%20the%20cake.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERecipe%20source:%20%E5%A5%BD%E6%83%B3%E4%B8%BA%E4%BD%A0%E4%BA%B2%E6%89%8B%E5%81%9A%E5%87%BA%E7%BE%8E%E5%91%B3%E7%9A%84%E7%94%9C%E7%82%B9!%20%E6%A3%80%E8%A7%81%E5%B4%8E%E8%81%A1%E7%BE%8E%E8%91%97%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
