Рецепт Blood Orange Sidecar Retro Cocktail #SundaySupper

Try this delicious and classic twist Blood Orange Sidecar Cocktail for retro week.

The Sidecar has actually been around since the prohibition, but regained popularity in the sixties and seventies.

Now while it’s traditionally made with lemon juice, I couldn’t resist using the blood orange.

My mom, a true teetotaler, actually enjoyed a Side Car now and again. Hers definitely more watered down than usual. But I do remember mom thinking she was all fancy ordering a “Side Car” when we dined out, which by the way was not all that often.

Okay okay I am a teetotaler too, but the blood orange in this cocktail was what drew me in.

This week the Sunday Supper Movement is sharing all kinds of retro dishes with all of you. How fun is that? Thanks to our host Heather from Hezzi-D’s Books and Cooks.

Next time you want to host a party with a theme make it a retro party and serve this Side Car cocktail. You can tell them the history of the drink and the mystery around it. Some say it was invented in Paris. Others claim New York. And still many state than an American officer in the Army created it and named it after the motorcycle side car he rode in.

Either way, it comes with legend and intrigue and I know your guests will love the story.

Rub a orange slice along the outside rim of the glass, then twirl the rim through a plate of sugar to frost the glass. In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, shake all the ingredients, strain into a chilled cocktail glass, garnish with a Orange peel, and enjoy. 3.2.2925
