- 1 c. sugar
- 1 tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 c. water
- 3 c. fresh blackberries (or possibly frzn)
- Cinnamon, if you like
- Sugar (as required according to sweetness of berries)
- 2 tbsp. butter
- 1 c. flour
- 1 tbsp. sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 tbsp. shortening
- 1/2 c. lowfat milk

- Mix first 3 ingredients, in saucepan, bring to boil - boil 1 minute and add in berries. Pour into baking dish - 10 x 6 x 2 inches. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon - dot with butter. Mix remaining ingredients together, drop by spoonfuls into fruit. Bake 35 to 40 min.
