Besan ladoo is a very popular and delicious Indian dessert made with gram flour, sugar, ghee and nuts and is  made especially during festive and special occasions.  Microwave besan ladoo recipe is a quick version of besan ladoo which can be prepared in less than 30 minutes.  Traditionally, for making besan ladoos, gram flour or besan is roasted in ghee on a gas stove, till it exudes a nice aroma and turns slightly dark brown in colour.  But in this recipe, besan is mixed with ghee and then set on high power in microwave for few minutes till nicely roasted and then mixed with sugar and nuts.  If you want to make instant besan ladoos, you can try making it in microwave which is not only convenient and quick, but also gives the same taste to the ladoos. Other ladoo recipes from my blog : Coconut ladoo Rava ladoo Oats ladoo Ragi ladoo Malai ladoo Prep Time : 15 mins Microwave cooking time : 6-7 mins Yield : 8 ladoos Indian cuisine INGREDIENTS Besan or gram flour – 1 cup Powdered sugar – 3/4 cup Ghee – 4 tablespoons Cardamom powder – 1/4 teaspoon Cashewnuts – 10  (broken into small pieces) Raisins – 10 HOW TO MAKE OR PREPARE MICROWAVE BESAN LADOO RECIPE Take ghee in a microwave safe bowl and microwave on high power for 30 seconds.  Once the ghee is melted, add gram flour. Combine well and microwave the mixture on high power for 2 minutes. Remove the bowl out from the  microwave and mix well again the mixture, till it gets a crumbly texture. Microwave on high for 4 minutes while  stirring in between after 2 minutes.  Allow the mixture to cool down or till it reaches the room temperature.  Then add the powdered sugar and mix well. Combine everything well.  Add cashewnuts and raisins and mix well.  Take a small portion of the mixture and shape it into a round ladoo.  Garnish with cashewnuts and raisins.  Store the ladoos in an airtight container  and serve as and when required. NOTES/TIPS Adjust the sugar according to the sweetness required by you. If the mixture has dried up, add little ghee and then start making ladoos.  Ghee helps in binding the mixture to make ladoos. You can also roast the nuts and raisins in ghee and then add to the mixture. Ensure not to over roast the mixture in the microwave. If the roasted besan-ghee mixture is little moist, you can refrigerate the mixture for 20 minutes and then make ladoos.
