  • 3 c. Self-rising flour
  • 1 Tbsp. Sugar, optional
  • 1 can Beer, at room temperature
  • 1 x Egg, beat w/ 1 Tb water

  1. Combine flour and sugar, pour in beer and stir just till dry ingreds. are moist (about 17 times according to original recipe). Pour batter into greased & floured loaf pan and let sit for about 15 minutes. to rise. Dough will be very gooey. Brush top with egg mix and bake in pre-heated 375 F. oven for about an hour or possibly till pick comes out clean. When done, brush top with butter.
  2. I like to add in things like 2 c. shredded cheddar cheese and 2 tblsp.
  3. caraway seeds or possibly the cheese and some fresh minced jalapenos or possibly just use your imagination. If you add in these things, add in them to the flour and mix well before you add in the beer.
