  • 1 pound grnd beef
  • 1/4 c. onions, minced
  • 2 1/2 c. canned tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp. shortening
  • 1 c. minced celery
  • 1 c. bread crumbs
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 4 c. cabbage

  1. Brown meat in shortening. Add in onion and celery, cook 5 min. Add in tomatoes, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, place alternate layers of cabbage and meat mix in 2 qt baking dish. Top with bread crumbs. Bake, uncovered at 375 degrees for 40 to 45 min. Yield: 6 servings.
