Beef Tips
In my neck of the woods, chances are you will find this Classic Dish on most Supper Club Menus. Some might not agree with my addition of sour cream...therefore turning this dish into a "Stroganoff'" but in my opinion, you can never have enough sour cream, so I like to add a dollop or two:) This is my version of a Northwoods House Specialty.
- 2 c. cream of mushroom soup
- 1 pkg beefy-onion soup mix
- 1 cup red wine
- green onions, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 8 oz. mushrooms, sliced
- 2 T oil
- 2 T butter
- 2-3 lbs Beef Tenderloin, cut in large pieces
- 1/3 cup sour cream, optional
Egg Dumpling Noodles, cooked according to package directions. Tossed with 2 T butter.
Saute' garlic, green onions and sliced mushrooms in oil and butter. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Mix together soups, onion soup mix, and red wine. Add mushroom mixture. Mix well.
Add tenderloin. Pour all into a 2 quart casserole. Cover tightly with foil.
Bake at 300 for 2-1/2 hours. Remove foil. Stir in sour cream, if using. Bake 1 hour longer.
Serve over Hot Buttered Noodles.
