Ингредиенты

  • 1 lrg Onion, finely minced
  • 3 x Cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 c. Celery, minced
  • 1 lrg Potato, peeled and minced
  • 1 c. Carrots, diced
  • 1/2 tsp Crushed red pepper
  • 1 c. Fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/4 c. Green extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 lb Round steak, trimmed of fat*, cut into 1" pcs
  • 1 c. Dry red wine
  • 1/2 tsp Italian herb seasoning
  • 1 c. Fresh parsley, minced
  • 1 whl bay leaf
  • 1 c. Canned tomatoes, crushed and liquid removed
  • 1 sm Onion, cut into rings

  1. In a large skillet, saute/fry the minced onion, garlic, celery, potatoes, carrots, crushed red pepper, and mushrooms in the oil for 5 min. Add in the steak and stir often to brown lightly.
  2. Add in the wine and cook for 3 min. Add in Italian herb seasoning, parsley, bay leaf, crushed tomatoes, and onion rings, and cook for 10 min. Taste and season with black or possibly cayenne pepper for a more piccante taste.
  3. Remove the bay leaf. Sprinkle with minced fresh Italian parsley before serving.
  4. Serving Ideas : Crusty bread and salad
  5. NOTES : Variations: 1) Eliminate the potato and serve over rice. 2) Add in diced green peppers, sliced zucchini, eggplant, asparagus, or possibly peeled fresh
  6. tomatoes.
