Ever felt bored thinking about what to eat while watching T.V.? You know like you had enough popcorn or sweetbread or the mundane fries and chicken. Well, that’s how I felt one day while watching T.V. at home with the family. I just didn’t know what to eat. So, with belly in hand, I rummaged around the fridge looking at what was available and thought of a few easy recipes I could do………………Nothing exciting came to mind, unfortunately. But the mood was about to change…

As soon as I opened up the freezer section there it was; one junk of beef waiting to be made into a million different cooking ideas. For now, I was hungry and wanted something quick and easy to make but also unique and satisfying as well. Incidentally, I do find myself wanting to savour every bite of my food now. It’s like an intimate experience…you must be happy and contented with your food being able to enjoy it to the last tasty morsel on the plate. All the flavours must just culminate into one big climax in your mouth with every spoonful, fork-ful or handful lol!! ….Yeah that’s how I enjoy my food now: by the handful….lol!! Just kidding

Anyhow, since I was accustomed to making chicken fingers for the family I thought why not make some “beef fingers”.. After all I’m used to cutting the beef into strips for Chinese cooking so there wasn’t any difficulty in coming up with a simple recipe for the beef. So, with meat cleaver in hand I made my beef fingers from a piece of the beef and did a simple breading to dredge the beef in before frying. And voila, in a few minutes time I was chomping down on some crispy beef fingers dipping in some tambran sauce occasionally, especially when de action start to heat up….. Yuh know with ah lil gun shooting or karate……. Hyah!! *feigning karate moves* hahaha lol!! <)):-D

So, I hope you enjoy this simple and easy snack. Here’s Beef fingers trini style.

BEEF FINGERS

Slice the beef thinly approx 1/4 inch.

Note: I find when the beef, or any meat for that matter, is slightly frozen it cuts nicely. No mess.

Season with complete seasoning, black pepper, ginger, chadon beni and garlic.

Marinate for 20 minutes.

Season the flour for dusting with the salt.

Dust the beef with flour, dip into the egg wash, then dust with flour again. Set aside for 5 minutes.

Fry until golden brown.

Drain on paper towels. Serve with dipping sauce of choice.

We had some tambran (tamarind) so we made a tambran sauce to go with the beef fingers. Yummy!

Well that’s how easy my trinistyle Beef Fingers are to make; do enjoy.
