Ингредиенты

  • 1 Tbsp. Oil
  • 500 gm Lean cubed beef, (1lb)
  • 2 x Cloves garlic, crushed
  • 15 gm Plain flour, (1/2oz)
  • 300 ml Red Burgundy wine, (1/2 pint)
  • 250 gm Shallots, or possibly button onions (8oz)
  • 250 gm Smoked bacon, minced (8oz)
  • 2 Tbsp. Freshly minced thyme
  • 125 gm Smoked bacon, minced and grilled or possibly fried till crispy (4oz)
  • 1 sprg fresh thyme

Инструкции

  1. Heat the oil and fry the steak for 8-10 min, stirring occasionally, till browned.
  2. Add in the garlic and flour, mix well and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Stir in the wine, bring to the boil then cover and simmer for 1 1/2 hrs.
  4. Add in the shallots or possibly onions, bacon and thyme and cook for a further 1 hour.
  5. Just before serving, sprinkle the bacon over the top and garnish with sprigs of fresh thyme.
  6. NOTES : A classic French dish perfect for entetaining.
