Рецепт BBQ Pork Appetizer
BBQ Pork Appetizer
One of the things I love about Asian cuisine is BBQ Pork Appetizer, however, sometimes when I get it it is super fatty meat, and THAT I don’t like! My friend Kevin at Closet Cooking posted this recipe and as I went over it, I felt that it was pretty darn close to what I am use to. So with a couple of modifications this has become a huge hit around here. If it’s not gobbled up right after I make it, the Youngest likes it on a roll with horseradish, eaten as a sandwich..
BBQ Pork Appetizer
Ingredients:
- 4 tablespoons lite soy sauce
- 4 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon Chinese Five Spice Powder*
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 2 teaspoons red food coloring (I forgot this)
- 1 pork tenderloin-cut lengthwise in quarters
Directions:
Mix all of the marinade ingredients together, reserving half for later, pour over the pork and marinate for several hours, covered in the refrigerator.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake, covered for 30 minutes. Flip the meat over, marinade and bake uncovered for another 15 minutes or so.
Let rest for 10 minutes, thin slice thinly and serve with marinade
*Chinese Five Spice Powder:
2 teaspoons Szechwan peppercorns (or black peppercorns)
8 star anise or 4 teaspoons ground anise
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon ground fennel seeds
MIX all the ingredients in a grinder and grind until you have a fine powder, store in an airtight container
