Рецепт Asparagus with Poached Egg and Gnocchi; clichés
by Katie Zeller

We all know how much I love fried Gnocchi.

And asparagus.

And poached eggs.

As to the clichés…. Google maintained its position and its mystique (the b******s… is South Park still on? Do they still kill Kenny?)

Asparagus with Poached Egg and Gnocchi

Total time: 25 minutes

Ingredients:

Instructions:

Gnocchi:

Heat water in a medium pot for gnocchi. When boiling, add the gnocchi and cook just until they all float, 1 – 2 minutes.

Drain and rinse lightly with cool water.

Heat the butter and oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add gnocchi, asparagus, and sauté until both are light brown and asparagus is crisp-tender, stirring and turning occasionally..

Eggs:

Fill a medium skillet with water. The water should be at least 1 1/2 inches deep. Heat water over medium-high heat.

Add vinegar.

When water is softly boiling, reduce heat and poach eggs: one at a time break egg into a small saucer. Swirl a spoon in the water where you will put the egg – off to the side. When water is swirling drop egg into center of swirl. With slotted spoon try to keep the white together.

Do next egg.

With regular spoon scoop some hot water over tops of eggs. Poach for 3 minutes or until white is set but yolk is still very soft. Remove eggs with a slotted spoon.

To finish:

Arrange gnocchi and asparagus. Top with a poached egg, chives, salt and pepper, if desired. Serve.

I should have listened to my mother.

She always told me: ‘Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.’

I put all my eggs with Google.

And she said: ‘Don’t count your chickens before they hatch.’

Google kept my chickens.

Sigh…..

I got the official, final notice today.

The thing that’s so frustrating is that, to the best of my knowledge, I did nothing wrong.

They say I did something wrong.

They won’t tell me what it is so I can defend myself.

They cancelled my account and kept the money I’d earned.

I know, I know….. much worse things happen to people all the time.

Much worse things have happened to me.

But….

Usually, stuff that happens is either an accident or a coincidence or a matter of wrong place / wrong time or the result of an action that I’m (at least) aware of.

Had Google told me that they were no longer working with food blogs that posted photos of poached eggs with runny yolks I would have understood.

It would have been a stupid reason, but it would have been a reason.

I just wanted a reason.

I will now put it behind me.

And which came first: the chicken or the egg?

Maybe it was the basket.

Bad Google!
