Arai Keerai Poriyal Recipe

Method:

1. Dry roast the urad dal, rice, sesame seeds and red chillies until golden.

2. Remove and grind to a coarse powder.

3. Soak the toor dal for 15 minutes and drain.

4. Heat oil in a pan over medium flame.

5. Fry the mustard seeds, toor dal, turmeric powder and arai keerai.

6. Stir well.

7. Cover the pan with a lid for 5 to 7 minutes.

8. Add coconut, ground powder and stir well.

9. Cook for 2 minutes and remove from flame.

10. Serve with rice and vathal kuzhambu.
