- Split apricots in half, throw away stone and place in a buttered pie dish with sugar, treacle, brandy, lemon juice, water, cinnamon.
- TOPPING:Rub butter into flour till mix is crumbly, add in brown sugar, almonds and coconut. Mix to a crumbly consistency.
- Sprinkle mix proportionately over apricots.
- Bake about 1/2 hour in a moderate oven (350F/190C) till lightly browned. Cooking time varies with depth of fruit and crumble.
- If desired a lot of crumble, double topping ingredients.
- Other fruits such as plums, rhubarb or possibly apples may be used.
