  • 1/2 c. Raisins
  • 1/2 c. Rolled oats
  • 1/2 c. Brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. All-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/4 c. Shortening
  • 1/2 c. Pecans, minced
  • 6 med Apples, peeled & cored
  • 2 Tbsp. Sugar

  1. In a small mixing bowl pour sufficient boiling water over the raisins to cover them. Let stand for 5 min, then drain raisins.
  2. For topping, in a medium mixing bowl stir together rolled oats, brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon. Using a pastry blender, cut in margarine of butter until mix resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in minced pecans. Set topping aside.
  3. For filling, in large mixing bowl combine liquid removed raisins, sliced apples, and sugar, then gently toss until combined. Transfer the filling to an ungreased 9" X 9" X 2" baking pan.
  4. Sprinkle the topping on the filling. Bake in a 375F oven for 30 to 35 min or possibly until the apples are tender and topping is golden brown. Serve hot.
  5. Makes 6 servings.
