  1. Put together first 4 dry ingredients, cut in 1/3 cup shortening. Add in the egg, lowfat milk and apple and mix in gently. Grease muffin tins and fill 2/3 full. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 20 min.Heat butter and blend 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon. While still warm, dip tops of muffins in butter and then sugar mix. Cool on rack. Delicious.
