Рецепт Apple Cheddar Crositini
Have I ever told you about the time I worked as a waitress?
It was my first job and I started out as a bus boy (bus girl?) clearing tables. This job is actually where I met my husband. I was 15 and thought he was kinda cute, but was never really that interested until he got his hair cut short. And then? It was on. I stalked the poor guy. Stalking works, apparently. We’ve been married for 13 years!
Anyway! I started waiting tables a few months in which was much better than clearing tables. There were tips involved! And I wasn’t the one touching the used silverware or carrying heavy trays of dirty dishes!
I’ll never forget the first time someone ordered a slice of apple pie and asked for a piece of cheddar on top.
I thought he was joking and laughed it off and then brought him his pie without the cheddar.
People, I had no idea cheddar on pie was a thing! I thought ice cream was the way to go! As a young teenage girl who was still somewhat picky, I was thoroughly disgusted by the idea of cheese on pie.
Aaaaand, then I grew up. Cheese + Pie = True Love.
I’m using Cracker Barrel’s rich, authentic cheddar to top my apples. I’ve already told you that Cracker Barrel is an award winning cheese, but I don’t think we’ve talked much about why it’s so fabulous! The flavor is perfectly sharp due to their unique aging process and the cheese is wonderfully creamy and smooth from the addition of cream. I mean, hello. Cream makes everything better.
If you haven’t tried Cracker Barrel yet, you really must. This isn’t one of those, “oh, it’s cheddar, I know what cheddar tastes like” cheeses. This is a unique cheddar that is a bit hard to describe. It’s worth tasting for yourself! The smooth texture and sharp bite are sure to make you fall in love.
