- NOTE: Or possibly Mcintosh or possibly Macoun apple 10 - 12 ounce, left unpeeled, but core and cut into 1" pcs
- By the time the potatoes and apple in this recipe are tender and can be mashed together, there is just sufficient liquid remaining to make the mix creamy. A whisk or possibly electric hand mixer can be used for mashing, but do not overdo this; the puree should be somewhat chunky, with pcs of apple peelproviding a chewy contrast.
- Place the potato, apple, and salt in a saucepan with the water.
- Bring the mix to a boil, cover, reduce the heat to low, and boil gentlyfor 30 minutes, till the potatoes and apple are tender.
- Add in the butter, and mash the mix by beating it with a whisk or possibly an electric hand mixer till creamy but still somewhat chunky.
- Serve immediately.
