Рецепт Apple Almond Cake
This is an updated recipe I found in a garage sale box. All the ingredients sounded great but 2 previous attempts left me wanting. On the third attempt I omitted some and added some. Tell me what you think. I’m not a big baker and struggle with the science of it.

- Heat Oven to 350. Grease and flour a 9 or 10 inch springform pan
- Using your mixer or large bowl combine 2/3C sugar and butter and beat on low-speed for 5 minutes.
- .Add eggs one a time, lemon juice until blended well
- In another bowl set a wire mesh colander and combine 2C flour, baking powder and salt and sift into bowl and then incorporate into batter. This batter will be very thick, very much like a coarse corn bread batter.
- Spread batter evenly into springform pan.
- Spread raspberry preserves over top of batter.
- Place your apple slices, working in a circular pattern over the top of the preserves. Use all the apples, making more than one layer if you sliced your apples thinly.
- With your hands press the apples down using slight pressure.
- In another bowl combine all your topping ingredients, blend well and spread over apples.
- Bake at 350 for 50-60 minutes. Really watch the edges of the cake to make sure theyâre not burning. Remove from oven when toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean. Set on a cooling rack for 10 minutes. The cake will very much resemble an upside down cake. The cake will not really rise.
- I think the cake is sweet enough on its own but if you want to add a glaze combine 1/4C powdered sugar and 2 tsp lemon juice and drizzle over cake.
