%20that%20I%20had%20experienced%20at%20Sonic%20once%20upon%20a%20time.%20Funny%20story:%20a%20few%20years%20ago,%20Sonic%20was%20really%20promoting%20some%20Dr.%20Pepper%20drink%20combo%20with%20vanilla,%20cherry,%20and%20cream.%20They%20stopped%20promoting%20it,%20and%20about%20a%20year%20later,%20I%20went%20back%20and%20ordered%20a%20drink%20with%20cream.%20They%20sounded%20confused.%20I%20told%20them,%20%E2%80%9CYou%20know,%20like%20you%20guys%20did%20awhile%20back%20with%20the%20Dr.%20Pepper%20and%20the%20vanilla%20and%20the%20cherry.%E2%80%9D%20Well.%20I%20got%20my%20drink%20and%20they%20had%20put%20that%20gross%20whipped%20topping%20on%20top%20of%20my%20drink.%20It%20floated.%20It%20didn%E2%80%99t%20melt.%20I%E2%80%99m%20pretty%20sure%20it%20wasn%E2%80%99t%20actually%20fit%20for%20human%20consumption.%20So%20that%20was%20the%20last%20time%20for%20that.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnyway.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETurns%20out%20the%20Dirty%20Diet%20Coke%20has%20ambiguous%20origins%E2%80%93currently,%20it%20can%20be%20found%20at%20these%20little%20drink%20and%20cookie%20shops%20in%20Utah%20called%20Swig,%20but%20there%E2%80%99s%20a%20loyal%20core%20of%20followers%20that%20believe%20it%20originated%20elsewhere.%20I%20dunno.%20I%20live%201500%20miles%20away,%20so%20I%E2%80%99m%20kind%20of%20out%20of%20the%20loop.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo%20while%20we%20were%20in%20Utah%20last%20summer,%20we%20decided%20to%20finally%20visit%20the%20infamous%20Swig%20and%20get%20the%20infamous%20Dirty%20Diet%20Coke%20and%20the%20infamous%20pink-frosted%20sugar%20cookie.%20And%20it%20was%20good%E2%80%93definitely%20different%20from%20your%20typical%20rolled%20and%20refrigerated%20and%20cut%20sugar%20cookie.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo%20I%20remembered%20these%20because%20I%20used%20to%20make%20them%20all%20time%20when%20I%20was%20in%20college.%20I%20made%20them%20all%20the%20time%20because%20I%20had%20a)%20no%20time%20and%20b)%20no%20money.%20So%20when%20I%20could%20make%20tons%20of%20cookies%20with%20half%20the%20butter%20of%20a%20regular%20recipe,%20and%20no%20rolling,%20chilling,%20and%20cutting%20were%20involved,%20I%20was%20a%20huge%20fan.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhen%20I%20remade%20these%20the%20first%20time,%20I%20knew%20they%20weren%E2%80%99t%20really%20the%20Swig%20cookie%E2%80%93they%20were%20much%20lighter,%20crispier,%20and%20more%20delicate%20(the%20Swig%20cookie%20was%20chewy%20and%20crinkly;%20I%20suspect%20they%20use%20more%20butter%20and%20flour).%20When%20I%20remade%20them,%20I%20added%20more%20flour,%20which%20didn%E2%80%99t%20regret;%20the%20dough%20as%20the%20recipe%20was%20written%20was%20more%20like%20a%20batter%20and%20I%E2%80%99m%20willing%20to%20bet%20those%20at%20really%20high%20altitudes%20would%20have%20had%20a%20disaster%20on%20their%20hands.%20I%20also%20chilled%20the%20dough,%20which%20isn%E2%80%99t%20necessary,%20but%20it%20helps%20prevent%20spreading,%20especially%20those%20later%20batches%20that%20seem%20to%20flatten%20out%20more.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo,%20long%20story%20short:%20these%20aren%E2%80%99t%20Swig%20knockoff%20cookies,%20but%20they%E2%80%99re%20definitely%20in%20the%20same%20family.%20However,%20they%E2%80%99re%20delicious%20and%20addictive%20and%20biting%20into%20a%20cold%20one%20is%20pretty%20spectacular.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYou%E2%80%99re%20going%20to%20need%20butter,%20vegetable%20oil,%20sugar,%20powdered%20sugar,%20eggs,%20vanilla,%20flour,%20baking%20soda,%20table%20salt,%20and%20cream%20of%20tartar.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELine%20baking%20sheets%20with%20parchment%20paper%20or%20non-stick%20mats%20and%20set%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20large%20bowl%20or%20the%20bowl%20of%20a%20stand%20mixer,%20beat%20the%20butter%20and%20oil%20at%20medium%20speed%20until%20blended.%20Gradually%20add%201%20cup%20sugar%20and%20powdered%20sugar,%20beating%20well.%20Add%20in%20eggs%20and%20vanilla.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECombine%20flour,%20baking%20soda,%20and%20salt%20and%20add%20to%20the%20butter%20mixture,%20beating%20at%20low%20speed%20until%20combined.%20If%20desired,%20chill%20for%2030-60%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EUsing%20a%201-tablespoon%20cookie%20scoop,%20scoop%20the%20cookies%20out%20onto%20the%20pan.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGently%20press%20the%20bottom%20of%20a%20smooth%20glass%20onto%20the%20bottom%20of%20one%20of%20the%20dough%20balls,%20then%20press%20in%20the%201/2%20cup%20of%20sugar,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ethen%20press%20back%20onto%20the%20first%20cookie.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAfter%20the%20first%20time,%20you%20can%20just%20dip%20the%20glass%20in%20the%20sugar%20and%20press%20it%20into%20the%20next%20cookie%20(it%20needs%20the%20moisture%20from%20the%20first%20cookie%20to%20stick%20to%20the%20glass.)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBake%20for%2010-12%20minutes%20or%20until%20very%20lightly%20brown%20around%20the%20edges.%20Remove%20from%20the%20oven%20and%20allow%20to%20cool%20completely.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETo%20make%20the%20icing,%20beat%20the%20ingredients%20together%20in%20a%20medium%20mixing%20bowl.%20Add%20food%20coloring%20as%20desired.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhen%20the%20cookies%20are%20cool,%20spoon%20abou
