%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20honor%20of%20my%20future%20BYU%20Cougar%20(just%20waiting%20for%20his%20decision%20if%20that%20future%20will%20be%202014%20or%202015),%20I%20whipped%20up%20these%20non-chocolate%20cookies.%20%20For%20as%20brilliant%20as%20this%20young%20man's%20brain%20is,%20he%20has%20some%20messed%20up%20taste%20buds.%20%20He%20can't%20stand%20chocolate...and%20yet,%20I%20still%20love%20him%20:)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThese%20cookies%20truly%20do%20melt%20away%20in%20your%20mouth,%20hence%20the%20name.%20%20Buttery%20and%20soft,%20plus%20the%20delicious%20glaze%20on%20top%20makes%20a%20perfect%20bite!%20%20They%20are%20delicious,%20although%20my%20kids%20said%20next%20time%20I%20should%20put%20sprinkles%20on%20top%20instead%20of%20almonds.%20%20What%20is%20it%20with%20kids%20and%20sprinkles?!?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAlmond%20Meltaway%20Cookies%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E(makes%2032%20cookies)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Erecipe%20from%20The%20Novice%20Chef%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1.%20%20Preheat%20oven%20to%20375%20degrees.%20%20In%20a%20stand%20mixer,%20beat%20together%20the%20butter%20and%20sugar%20until%20light%20and%20fluffy,%20scraping%20down%20the%20sides%20occasionally.%20%20Add%20the%20egg%20and%20almond%20extract%20and%20beat%20to%20combine,%20again%20taking%20the%20time%20to%20scrape%20down%20the%20sides%20of%20the%20bowl.%20%20Add%20the%20remaining%20ingredients%20and%20with%20the%20mixer%20on%20low,%20allow%20the%20dough%20to%20combine%20completely.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E2.%20%20Roll%20dough%20into%201%22%20balls%20and%20place%20on%20an%20ungreased%20cookie%20sheet.%20%20Flatten%20each%20ball%20into%20a%20disc%20using%20the%20bottom%20of%20a%20glass%20dipped%20in%20flour.%20%20Bake%20for%208%20minutes%20then%20allow%20them%20to%20cool%20on%20the%20sheet%20for%205%20minutes%20before%20removing%20them%20to%20a%20rack%20to%20cool%20completely.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E3.%20%20While%20the%20cookies%20cool,%20mix%20together%20the%20icing.%20%20You%20want%20a%20thick,%20but%20spoonable%20icing%20so%20adjust%20the%20amount%20of%20milk%20accordingly.%20%20Spoon%20onto%20the%20top%20of%20each%20cookie%20and%20sprinkle%20on%20a%20few%20almonds.%20%20Allow%20the%20icing%20to%20dry%20before%20storing%20in%20an%20airtight%20container.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
