These Almond Crusted Crispy Crab Bites make the ultimate game day appetizers.

We are approaching football mayhem in our house. Nothing else matters on the day of the big game. But no matter which team you are rooting for we all know the best part about the big game is the food.

Before you prepare to sit in front of the tube to watch the big game, make sure you have plenty of game-changing snacks within reach.

One of our favorite appetizers to eat are crab cakes. I made these delicious crispy crab bites by coating them with Blue Diamond Almonds. Almonds are packed with protein and a fantastic alternative to bread crumbs. Using a combination of the Smokehouse almonds and the Wasabi Soy Sauce almonds gave these little guys the right combo and a perfect game changing snack.

All you need to do is leave the snacking to the nuts.

1 pound lump crab meat, drained 1 cup Blue Diamond Smokehouse almonds, divided, crushed 1 cup Blue Diamond Wasabi and Soy Sauce Almonds, crushed 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce 2 Tablespoons milk 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard 1 teaspoon hot sauce 2 eggs 1 scallion finely chopped ½ lemon, juiced ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper ¼ cup canola oil

In a medium bowl combine the egg and milk , 1 cup of the crushed almonds. Set aside. In a separate bowl, combine the , Worcestershire, mustard, lemon juice, scallions and hot sauce. Add the crab meat and gently combine. Fold into the egg mixture. add the pepper. Roll the crab mixture into balls and arrange on a sheet pan. Refrigerate for 30 minutes. Roll the crab bites into the remaining almond mixture. In a skillet set on medium high, add the oil and fry the crab bites for about 3 to 4 minutes. Serve with Sriracha mayo. 3.2.2925
