Рецепт Al Forno Italian Restaurant (North Shore City, New Zealand)
by Ang Sarap

There are many restaurants in Takapuna and like I said before we are challenging ourselves to try them all and post only those we like in here. We had tried several already like Mamak, Sal’s, Myeong Dong, Eight Colours, Bian Sushi and Donburi and Sake Bar Nippon to name some but this I guess is the first Italian restaurant.Just located in Anzac Street near Berkeley Cinemas this is quite accessible with a large parking area near it’s just a short walk to this establishment. We went here for a dinner, luckily we had booked because it was full of patrons, one thing we notice though the patrons are mostly Italian during the night we dined in. This means something, if Italians like this place then definitely we are in the right restaurant. There was quite a selection but not too confusing, and the prices are not really expensive but not cheap as well. We did not mucked around and chose our orders immediately as we had decide to take a pizza, pasta and a steak even before we came in but before everything else we grabbed some starter bread in the form of a simple Pizza aglio olio with parmesan cheese ($9.00)Pizzas are baked in a stone oven like how the real Italian restaurants do it with a heat that can reach around 450C the crusts are baked perfectly in the fastest time possible which means pizza orders are always served first. Apart from our starter we also had a Margarita pizza ($24.00) basically a pizza topped with tomato, fresh mozzarella, fresh basil and olive oil and like I imagined it’s nearly if not similar to the pizza’s we tried when we visited Italy several times in the past. For the pasta we chose Lasagne Al Forno ($25.90) a layered pasta and ground beef topped with homemade napolitana sauce and mozzarella cheese. The serving is quite hefty and definitely it can feed one hungry person or two people if you have ordered some pasta. It was quite delicious, creamy at the same time tangy, I love the flavours, and definitely the tomatoes used are the good quality ones. Finally the steak arrived, I ordered the 230g 21 days aged Filetto Aglio ($35.90) which is a prime eye fillet grilled with garlic, cracked paper white wine, parsley served with vegetables. It was perfectly cooked period! In the end I am a happy man.The food here was great there were even people again of Italian descent buy pizzas just to take away. Like I said initially if Italians swarm this place it means something, they feel at home here and the food tasted exactly the way they had its back in their home country, I can’t agree more even the noise and how the staff communicate to you plus the great food will make you feel like you warped in Europe with this dining experience.Al Forno Italian Restaurant Address: 34 Anzac Street, Takapuna, North Shore City, New Zealand 0622 Phone: +649 488 0179 Website: http://www.alforno.co.nz/ Share this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Google+ (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window)Click to email this to a friend (Opens in new window)Like this:Like Loading...
