,%20soy%20sauce,%20vinegar%20and%20loads%20of%20garlic,%20without%20one%20of%20them%20it%20cannot%20be%20called%20an%20adobo%20apart%20from%20one%20exception,%20this%20adobo%20sa%20puti.%20Basically%20adobo%20sa%20puti%20is%20a%20similar%20dish%20sans%20soy%20sauce,%20I%20am%20not%20sure%20about%20its%20origins%20but%20my%20wild%20guess%20is%20that%20this%20was%20created%20by%20someone%20who%20planned%20to%20make%20adobo%20and%20found%20out%20there%20was%20no%20soy%20sauce,%20instead%20of%20buying%20one%20to%20save%20money%20he%20used%20salt%20as%20a%20replacement.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENow%20I%20had%20the%20similar%20scenario%20a%20couple%20of%20weeks%20ago%20when%20I%20was%20planning%20to%20cook%20my%20adobo,%20to%20my%20surprise%20I%20ran%20out%20of%20soy%20sauce%20and%20remember%20that%20this%20dish%20existed.%20The%20wife%20is%20quite%20sceptical%20as%20she%20never%20tried%20had%20adobo%20sa%20puti%20but%20the%20end%20result%20had%20spoken%20for%20itself.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdobo%20sa%20Puti%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESeason%20pork%20belly%20with%20salt%20then%20set%20it%20aside.%20Deep%20fry%20potatoes%20until%20golden%20brown.%20Remove%20from%20pan%20then%20set%20aside.%20In%20a%20separate%20pot%20saut%C3%A9%20garlic%20in%20oil%20using%20low%20heat%20until%20golden%20brown.%20Remove%20from%20pot%20and%20set%20aside.%20Add%20pork%20belly%20and%20fry%20until%20browning%20occurs.%20Add%20%C2%BD%20cup%20water,%20%C2%BD%20cup%20vinegar,%202%20tbsp%20peppercorn,%204%20bay%20leaves%20and%201%20tbsp%20sugar%20then%20bring%20to%20a%20boil%20and%20simmer%20for%2025%20minutes.%20Drain%20any%20remaining%20liquid%20and%20in%20a%20separate%20frying%20pan%20add%20oil%20and%20fry%20the%20drained%20meat%20in%20high%20heat%20browning%20the%20sides.%20Pour%20the%20drained%20liquid%20back%20in%20the%20pan%20together%20with%20the%20deep%20fried%20potatoes.%20Add%20more%20vinegar%20and%20water%20if%20it%20dries%20up.%20Simmer%20for%20additional%205%20minutes,%20season%20with%20salt%20if%20needed%20then%20serve.%20%203.2.2807%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELike%20Loading...%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERelated%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
