American Heart Association (AHA)’s Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Course has been updated to reflect new science in the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care. This course builds on the foundation of lifesaving BLS skills, emphasizing the importance of continuous, high-quality CPR.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is an advanced, instructor-led classroom course that highlights the importance of team dynamics and communication, systems of care and immediate post-cardiac-arrest care. It also covers airway management and related pharmacology.

In this course, skills are taught in large, group sessions and small, group learning and testing stations where case-based scenarios are presented.

Audience:

ACLS is designed for healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest and other cardiovascular emergencies. This includes personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units such as physicians, nurses, and paramedics, as well as others who need an ACLS course completion card for job or other requirements.

  2. Present your unexpired American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Card to be considered a renewing provider and pay a reduced price for the course
  3. We do not accept non-AHA provider cards
  4. Please sign up for PDRE’s accredited BLS and ACLS for Healthcare Providers course and receive the most globally recognized AHA provider card
  5. Knowledge and recognition of basic ECG heart rhythms and Pharmacology
  6. A student must be able to identify basic ECG heart rhythms and Pharmacology before the start of the course
  7. Please sign up for PDRE’s BART (Basic Arrhythmia Recognition and Treatment) course and learn basic ECG heart rhythms
  8. ACLS Provider Manual or Handbook for ECC
  9. A current ACLS Provider Manual or Handbook for ECC is required to attend the course
  10. Purchase the updated book from PDRE for during online class enrollment or before the start of the course at our facility
  11. Please bring your book if you own the most up-to-date version

  18. AHA ACLS Provider Course Completion Card, valid for two years

Upon successful course completion, including demonstration of psychomotor skills competency in all learning stations by passing the CPR and AED skills test, bag-mask ventilation skills test, and a Megacode test in addition to a written test, students receive an American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) course completion card, valid for two years.

By claiming CAPCE credit, the claimant acknowledges the following: I understand that the American Heart Association as a requirement of CAPCE accreditation will submit a record of my course completions to the CAPCE AMS. I further understand that my course completion records may be accessed by or shared with such regulators as state EMS offices, training officers, and NREMT on a password-protected, need-to-know basis. In addition, I understand that I may review my record of CAPCE-accredited course completions by contacting CAPCE.
