- Preheat oven to 325 degrees. In large bowl, cream butter and sugar for 10 min. Add in large eggs, one at a time, beating 1 minute after each. Gradually add in flour and mix well (3 to 5 min). Add in flavor. NOTE: This cake originally didn't call for flavor. I added my own choice, but it tastes well without it. Pour in pan and bake for 1 1/2 to 2 hrs. Cool completely before serving.If you use lemon flavor, you can glaze with lemon. If you use vanilla, make glaze using vanilla flavor, etc.
