Рецепт 4-Ingredient Fruit Punch Pudding Pops
An easy, fruity, frozen treat that the kids (and adults!) will love this summer! Flavor the pudding pops with any juice flavor you love!
I am so glad that summer might actually be here now.
Things got a bit iffy there back in May when we had a blizzard.
Not joking.
Wish I was.
But I think it’s safe to say that the snow is gone for good here in Manitoba, at least for a few months! Which means it’s time to whip up some frosty treats that will keep the kids cool when they’re spending long days outside (I know mine will be!).
I kind of just discovered pudding pops this summer. I’m not usually into homemade frozen popsicle-type treats because I find them so icy and hard and kind of unpleasant. When I thought about making some pudding pops, I was worried that they would be just like the rest of the popsicle recipes I’d tried in the past.
But they weren’t.
They were creamy and cool and because the pudding is so thick to begin with, they don’t melt and being watery. They just get pudding-y, so I would go so far as saying they’re more delicious and less messy! That is a total win here.
Would you believe my 3 year old doesn’t like ice cream?
We kind of just caught on in the last few months, when we’d give her some (not every day – don’t look at me like that!) and she’d take a bite and make a face, and take a bite and make a face.
Turns out, she’s not really into cold things.
Whenever we have ice cream or ice cream cake we offer her some, and she’ll take a bite and then ask us to warm it up. It’s just not quite the same that way!
But pudding pops she loves! I think it’s because they’re little water content, so they’re less icy and not quite as cold on little teeth. And in the 45 minutes it took her to finish one, one lick at a time, she only had one drop on her shirt. I think that’s a record of some sort!
I have tried adding pureed fruit to some pudding pops, but I find it makes them a little icier and takes away from the creaminess a bit. That’s why for these I used liquid concentrated juice mix drops. And also because they apparently don’t sell packets of powdered Koolaid anymore? What?!
I just love the fun, fruity flavor and how it adds to the creamy vanilla. Fruit and vanilla ice cream is one of my favorite things to enjoy in the summer! And it’s so easy to pick and choose your flavors, you can really customize them to your kiddos’ tastes! Mix it up, dump into popsicle molds and patiently wait for it to freeze. Or not so patiently!
4-Ingredient Fruit Punch Pudding Pops
Ingredients
- 2 cups milk
- 1 package instant vanilla pudding
- 1 cup frozen whipped topping, thawed
- ½-1 tsp concentrated juice drops (Koolaid or similar)*
Instructions
In a medium bowl, combine milk and pudding with a whisk just until smooth. Slowly whisk in the whipped topping and juice drops until incorporated. Adjust flavoring to taste.
Pour into popsicle molds (you will get 7-8 of the ones you see pictured, but if you have leftover you can always just eat it unfrozen!), and place a stick or holder in the pudding. Freeze for 5-6 hours or until firm. To release, run under luke warm water for 30 seconds – 1 minute. Store in the freezer.
