%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20have%20been%20doing%20some%20%22research%22%20and%20found%20an%20overwhelming%20number%20of%20cookie%20recipes%20for%20this%20event.%20But%20in%20addition%20to%20finding%20already%20created%20recipes,%20what%20about%20ones%20I%20will%20make%20as%20I%20go?%20And%20then%20the%20classics%20need%20to%20be%20taken%20into%20consideration.%20And%20then%20there%20are%20the%20hits%20from%20last%20year%20I'd%20like%20to%20bring%20back.%20Whew.%20Kind%20of%20sends%20the%20head%20reeling,%20doesn't%20it?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20phrase%20%22one%20day%20at%20a%20time%22%20comes%20to%20mind.%20So%20let's%20focus%20on%20today.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOh,%20and%20by%20the%20way.%20While%20we%20were%20on%20our%20trip%20in%20Canada,%20Abby%20accidentally%20broke%20my%20camera%20and%20I%20am%20now%20adjusting%20to%20a%20new%20one%20from%20my%20Mom....please%20bear%20with%20me%20while%20I%20figure%20it%20out.%20haha%20It%20may%20mean%20either%20no%20pictures%20or%20blurry%20pictures.%20I'll%20get%20the%20hang%20of%20it%20before%20the%20month%20is%20out...I%20hope.%20:)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI'm%20calling%20them%20Chocolate%20Covered%20Oranges%20because%20they%20really%20remind%20me%20of%20those%20chocolate%20%22oranges%22%20in%20the%20candy%20aisle.%20And%20this%20year%20I%20have%20a%20new%20assistant%20in%20the%20kitchen.%20You'll%20recall%20my%20lil%20helper%20last%20year.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWell%20somehow%20she%20ended%20up%20in%20Kindergarten%20this%20year.%20Seriously,%20how%20does%20time%20go%20by%20this%20quickly???%20So%20I%20enlisted%20the%20help%20of%20another%20lil%20one.%20:)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhile%20looking%20through%20my%20cupboards%20for%20inspiration,%20my%20eyes%20came%20upon%20a%20rather%20large%20container%20of%20Nutella.%20And%20then%20I%20saw%20the%20oranges%20sitting%20in%20a%20basket%20on%20my%20counter.%20And%20voila!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20the%20oven%20to%20350%20degrees%20F.%20Line%20a%20baking%20sheet%20with%20parchment%20paper%20or%20a%20silicon%20baking%20mat%20and%20then%20set%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20medium%20mixing%20bowl,%20whisk%20together%20the%20flour,%20salt,%20cocoa%20powder,%20and%20baking%20soda.%20Set%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EUsing%20my%20stand%20mixer%20fitted%20with%20the%20paddle%20attachment,%20cream%20together%20the%20butter%20and%20granulated%20sugar.%20Once%20that%20is%20mixed%20together,%20beat%20in%20the%20Nutella%20followed%20by%20the%20brown%20sugar.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAfter%20scraping%20down%20the%20sides,%20beat%20in%20the%20egg.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESlowly,%20beat%20in%20the%20flour%20mixture.%20The%20cookie%20dough%20will%20seem%20dry,%20but%20don't%20worry.%20Now%20beat%20in%20the%20orange%20zest.%20Be%20sure%20to%20scrape%20the%20sides%20down%20and%20mix%20for%20another%20minute%20or%20so.%20You%20want%20to%20make%20sure%20the%20orange%20zest%20is%20spread%20as%20evenly%20as%20possible%20throughout%20the%20dough.%20At%20this%20point,%20feel%20free%20to%20like%20the%20beater%20and%20spatula.%20Abby%20did.%20:)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDrop%20by%20rounded%20teaspoons%20onto%20the%20prepared%20sheets.%20I%20actually%20rolled%20mine%20to%20help%20it%20stay%20together%20a%20little%20better%20and%20then%20slightly%20flattened%20the%20dough%20balls%20once%20they%20were%20on%20the%20sheet.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBake%20at%20350%20degrees%20F%20for%208%20minutes.%20The%20cookies%20need%20to%20stay%20on%20the%20baking%20sheet%20for%20about%205%20to%2010%20minutes%20longer%20once%20they%20have%20been%20pulled%20from%20the%20oven.%20After%20they%20have%20hardened%20up%20a%20bit,%20transfer%20them%20to%20a%20cooling%20rack.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EEnjoy!!%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
