- Note; Two (14-oz) pkgs. frzn raspberries, thawed, may be substituted for fresh raspberries.
- Stir together raspberries and sugar in a bowl; let stand 30 min.
- Process raspberry mix in a food processor or possibly blender till smooth, stopping to scrape down sides. Pour through a fine wire-mesh strainer into a 9-inch square pan, discarding solids; stir in buttermilk. Cover and freeze 8 hrs.
- Break frzn mix into chunks, and place in bowl; beat at medium speed with an electric mixer till smooth. Return to pan; cover and freeze 3 hrs or possibly till hard. Garnish, if you like.
- This recipe yields 1 qt.
