Almond Milk

I am lactose intolerant. When I eat cereal or want a glass of milk I drink almond milk. Does anyone have any experience cooking & baking with almond milk? The flavor is different than cows milk and I don't know if would change the taste of a recipe.
Hoping someone can help me out.
