Recipe help

Sherry Tipton
Sherry Tipton 02 сентября 2010

I have had better luck with my oven now and have started to really enjoy it, but I have been afraid to cook everything at once so I'll cook potoatoes then corn then meat or whatever I'm cooking. Does anyone have any great recipes that I could try that cooks everything together at once. Does anyone have any suggestions on dehydrating fruit?
Thanks and advance
Sherry

Re: Recipe help

Dehydrating fruit is very easy. Slice it thinly, arrange on the rack, set the oven about 150' and wait. The object is to dry it out, not to cook or brown it. You may want to experiment with small amounts (1 fruit or so) to see just what you can expect. Perhaps bread cubes/croutons would be a good place to start.

Re: Recipe help

Try taking veggies and cook them separately at first to get an idea as to how long until they are done to your taste and then you can time what time you need to add others. Like potatoes to my taste are 47 minutes so at one point I am going to add other things like corn on the cob cooks deliciously with the silk on. So corn and a potato could easily be done together. I have yet to try squash but it is next on my list. Everything I have tried so far works quite well in the NuWave. Did a roast yesterday that was top of the line, I was so hungry smelling it that I just forgot the vegetables entirely and last minute sliced a tomato and shredded some lettuce. Tonight it is left over roast on bread with cheese. I am going to butter the bread lightly and turn it halfway. When the cheese is melted my dinner is done! I also have a chocolate cake mix I want to try.

Re: Recipe help

I cooked a small rack of pork the other night with veggies underneath. Put potatoes, pumpkin, carrots and whole onion in baking pan, put pork on higher rack (no pan) and cooked for 1 1/2 hrs. Crackle was lovely and crisp. Took out pork, wrapped in foil to stand and put veggies up higher to brown 5-10 mins each side. Yum.
