I have been with the same man for 25 years, we have 5 beautiful daughters and 11 grandchildren. As with most families my kitchen is the heart of our home. My youngest daughters favorite saying is "this is Grandma's kitchen where memories are made and grandkids are spoiled" open 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week. No matter what the occasion there is always enough food to feed an army and everyone is great about trying new things.
My specialties are cakes and cookies, but I love savories as well.
Recently after being laid off from my job of 15 yrs I decided to go back to school and chose the baking program at Clark college working toward my AAS. I have to say that I love everything about it! I am also taking pastry arts and cake decorating. Even though I have been making cakes to order for the last 2 years, I think there is always something to be learned so I enter every class as if I have only the most basic knowledge. My most challenging stations have been danish and bread but I am learning! My youngest Daughter Chrystal and I have started a small cake business from my home and are doing very well, we call our business "Tami's Sugar Chrystals"

My mother who was a great family cook and could stretch a dollar like nobody's business, she never used a spice aside from salt and pepper, but taught me all the fundamentals. My dad who was the best guinipig for a young girl trying her hand at cooking and baking, good or bad he always had kind words of encouragement. My brothers and sister for having no interest in learning how to cook so were very happy I did!
My daughters who were awesome at trying anything, gave me great and honest feedback and have grown to love most foods and to my sons-in-laws who always want more. My grandchildren who think their grandma is the best cook in the whole world!
