I fell in love with the science of nutrition in high school home ec. I became very serious about food and nutrition when I was expecting my first baby, who is now grown. I have continued to study and educate myself with all aspects of food--nutrition, healing, vegetarianism, macrobiotics, ayurvedia, environmental impact, spirituality, customs and religion, and the psychology of eating. I have had many wonderful teachers along the way. I have worked in professional kitchens where I mastered knife skills. I'm very picky about washing my food (and hands) and keeping a clean kitchen. And a peaceful kitchen--no harsh feelings or anger in my kitchen, please. Mostly though, I simply embrace the pleasure of cooking wholesome, nutritious, and delicious food for the people I love, and sharing a meal with them.
