I have flirted with France all my life. I am a third generation Francophone, born in Paris (Neuilly s/s) who has continued a love affair with everything French, including the food. Now, I am taking a position in the kitchen, whisk in hand so join me as I tackle some French recipes - family favorites while growing-up. As author and commander-in-chef, I reserve the right to editorialize, explore, discuss and perhaps even drink a few more glasses of wine than necessary.

Living and growing up in Paris and the fact that we always had fantastic meals for lunch and dinner - true Cordon Bleu all the way. At some point in this cullinary adventure I may opt to switch to colonial cooking - and by that I mean "les colons" those French who found themselves at the four corners of the earth in places like Algeria, le Maroc, Vietnam, Senegal and others. The fact that I spent a number of years as a youngster in the Heart of Darkness, one can't help but pick up a licking for rice, bananas, pineapple, mangoes, red hot spices and a slow antelope. But that's a zebra of a different color.
