Hi Melissa, good to meet you! Check out all the different groups on this site too, for recipes. I have often just been browsing around to see what the different groups are all about, and have stumbled across some amazing recipes, cooking tips and tricks, and of course, some incredible chefs profiles. We are all much better cooks for keeping an open mind and being willing to try new methods (and old, tried and true as well).
Have fun here, and as Chef Miller said, don't be afraid to ask questions or to post your recipes here. We'd love to see them.
