Passionate about food and wine, I am so fortunate to live and work in Sonoma Wine Country in Northern California. Surrounded by vineyards, farmers, forest, creeks and a few miles away from the Atlantic Ocean and Russian River, there are wonderful resources all around. We go up in the hills along the coast to pick mushroom, tour the wineries for wine tasting, drive out to the coast for fresh seafood and we visit the farmers markets for local produce. I practically grow up with a rolling pin in my hands, baking and cooking side by side with my mom. We planted and harvested our organic garden, foraged mushroom and picked wild berries during the fall. My mom taught me how to make everything from cinnamon rolls to pâté.
When taking my culinary degree, I was fortunate to do my internship for Chef Hubert Keller at restaurant Fleur de Lys in San Francisco; I admire how he handles each products with pure simplicity and yet brings them together to a synchronized complexity on the plate for his guests to enjoy.
