Рецепт Vunderbars
by Carole Jones

Our first snow of 10 inches arrived this week in Minnesota and this means my kids are constantly playing Christmas music and asking how many more days until Christmas.  We hung our outdoor Christmas lights last weekend because it was warm but did not turn them on.  However, every night since it has snowed, I've discovered the outside of our house glowing with way too early Christmas cheer!   All this early festiveness got my mind churning about my favorite part of the holidays....the food :)  I have my traditional recipes that must (yes, must) make their annual appearance, but I also love to find new recipes to try as well.  These bars were one of those experiments and boy oh boy, they will be making many more appearances. These bars require no baking and no time on the stove.  Just a few minutes in the microwave and some mixing.  Easy peasy lemon squeezy.  They are dense, rich and so decadent, which means they are perfect for the holiday season.  Cut them on the smaller side and indulge away! Since chocolate and peanut butter is one of my favorite combinations, these bars were really dangerous for me to have sitting around.  The smell alone made me want to bury my face in the pan, never coming up for air.  Just be warned.....these are the type of bars that will make fitting into your favorite black dress an impossibility :) Vunderbars (makes 24 bars) recipe adapted from Bake or Break 4 C chocolate wafer crumbs (I used 2 packages of Nabisco chocolate wafers) 2 1/2 C powdered sugar 2 C Rice Krispies 1 C rolled oats 1/2 tsp salt 3 1/2 C smooth peanut butter (no, that is not a typo...) 3/4 C unsalted butter 1 C dark chocolate chips 1/4 C white chocolate chips 1/4 C smooth peanut butter 1.  Grease a 9x13" pan.  Combine the wafer crumbs, sugar, rice kris pies, oats and salt in a large bowl.  Place the peanut butter and butter in a microwave safe bowl and microwave until they are melted and smooth, about a minute and a half.  Pour the peanut butter mixture over the wafer mixture and stir until well combined. 2.  Transfer into greased pan and spread evenly.  Heat dark chocolate in a small microwave safe bowl in 30 second increments until chocolate melts when stirred.  Pour and spread melted chocolate over the bars and refrigerate. 3.  In two separate bowls, heat the milk chocolate and peanut butter until melted.  Drizzle the milk chocolate over the bars and then drizzle the peanut butter over the bars.  Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set.
