%20with%20my%201.5%20qt%20ice%20cream%20maker%20in%20hand....a%2020%25%20off%20coupon%20from%20the%20lady%20in%20line%20behind%20me%20(because%20I%20never%20actually%20%22plan%22%20on%20going%20to%20Bed%20Bath%20and%20Beyond)%20and%20when%20all%20was%20said%20and%20done,%20I%20spent%20under%20$45.00%20for%20the%20easiest%20ever%20ice%20cream%20maker.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBtw.....when%20did%20they%20stop%20using%20ice%20and%20rock%20salt?%20(ya....it's%20been%20a%20while%20since%20I've%20owned%20one.%20Can%20you%20tell?)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHave%20I%20ever%20mentioned%20that%20I%20love%20peanut%20butter%20and%20maple?%20Oh%20ya....I%20did,%20in%20my%20Belgian%20Waffle%20post.%20Now%20I'm%20going%20to%20share%20the%20story%20that%20made%20it%20happen....%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt%20all%20started%20years%20ago...when%20I%20was%20a%20young%20girl.%20One%20of%20my%20favorite%20sandwiches%20was%20peanut%20butter%20and%20honey.%20I'd%20make%20them%20often%20for%20my%20sack%20lunch.%20One%20morning%20when%20I%20had%20my%20taste%20buds%20set%20on%20having%20one%20for%20lunch%20that%20day,%20I%20discovered%20that%20we%20were%20out%20of%20honey.%20Mom?!!%20I%20have%20never%20been%20a%20bologna%20type%20of%20gal.%20Not%20sure%20why%20I%20just%20didn't%20use%20jelly%20(like%20everyone%20else)...soooo,%20I%20found%20myself%20pouring%20maple%20syrup%20all%20over%20my%20bread.%20Shoved%20it%20in%20a%20plastic%20baggy%20(not%20the%20zip%20lock%20kind.....the%20old%20fashioned%20kind....the%20ones%20that%20fold%20over.%20Remember%20those?)%20and%20off%20to%20school%20I%20went.%20When%20lunch%20time%20rolled%20around,%20I%20found%20myself%20with%20a%20bit%20of%20a%20sticky%20baggy....but%20something%20wonderful%20had%20happened.%20The%20syrup%20kinda%20crystallized%20and%20made%20the%20edges%20of%20my%20bread....the%20crust%20....the%20part%20I%20NEVER%20ate....almost%20like%20candy.%20Not%20to%20mention%20the%20wonderful%20coming%20together%20of%20two%20great%20flavors.%20Meshing%20in%20your%20mouth%20to%20create%20something%20amazing.%20A%20love%20that%20apparently%20has%20lasted%20a%20lifetime.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20a%20love%20that%20has%20lead%20to%20this....%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20medium%20sized%20bowl,%20on%20low%20speed,%20beat%20together%20the%20milk,%20sugar%20and%20salt.%20Stir%20in%20the%20maple%20syrup,%20heavy%20cream,%20maple%20flavoring%20and%20vanilla%20extract.%20Cover%20and%20let%20sit%20in%20the%20fridge%20for%201%20or%202%20hours%20or%20longer%20(over%20night%20if%20need%20be).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFollow%20the%20instructions%20on%20your%20ice%20cream%20maker.%20After%20the%20ice%20cream%20is%20done,%20fold%20in%20the%20peanut%20butter.%20Enjoy%20now%20or%20store%20in%20the%20freezer%20until%20you%20%20have%20a%20harder%20set.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EScoop%20and%20server%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20enjoy%20as%20you%20taste%20a%20bit%20of%20my%20childhood%20obsession.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENote:%20this%20is%20a%20very%20sweet%20ice%20cream.%20There's%20no%20denying%20the%20flavor%20of%20maple.%20If%20your%20a%20bit%20hesitant....maybe%20omit%20the%20sugar%20all%20together.%20You%20could%20even%20omit%20the%20maple%20flavoring%20(might%20be%20redundant)%20and%20then%20increase%20the%20vanilla%20extract%20by%20a%20teaspoon.%20Either%20way...I%20hope%20you%20find%20yourself%20enjoying%20the%20combo%20of%20peanut%20butter%20and%20maple%20as%20much%20as%20I%20do.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
