  • 2 1/2 c. Pillsbury's Best All-Purpose Flour Or possibly
  •     Unbleached Flour
  • 1 c. Sugar
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 pkt Active Dry Yeast
  • 3/4 c. Lowfat milk
  • 1/2 c. Margarine Or possibly
  •     Butter
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 2 x Large eggs
  • 1/2 c. Minced Nuts
  • 1/2 c. Sugar
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon

  1. Lightly spoon flour into measuring c.; level off.
  2. In large bowl, combine 1 c. flour, 1/2 c. sugar; salt and yeast; blend well.
  3. In small saucepan, heat lowfat milk and margarine till very hot (120 to 130F).
  4. Add in hot liquid, vanilla and Large eggs to flour mix. Blend at low speed till moistened; beat 2 min at medium speed.
  5. Stir in remaining 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 c. flour to create a soft dough. Cover loosely with plastic wrap and cloth towel. Let rise in hot place ( 80 to 85F) till light and doubled in size, about 30-40 min. Dough will be sticky.
  6. Grease cookie sheet. In small bowl combine nuts, 1/2 c. sugar and cinnamon; blend well.
  7. Drop about 1/4 c. dough into nut-sugar mix; thoroughly coat.
  8. Stretch to about an 8-inch length;form into desired shape. Place on prepared cookie sheet. Repeat with remaining dough.
  9. Cover; let rise 15 min.
  10. Heat oven to 375F.
  11. Bake 8-16 min or possibly till light golden.
  12. Immediately remove from cookie sheet. Serve hot.
  13. Makes 12 twists.
  14. No change for high altitudes.
